With the process of requalification of the port area in Santos in the Valongo region, and given the historical and cultural relevance of the local material and intangible heritage, it is proposed to carry out the Project of research and artistic-cultural practices EXPEDIÇÕES as a form of appreciation and cultural appropriation of this region of the city, with the creation of artistic projects and cultural, tourist and educational mediation and environmental to think about ways to culturally and creatively occupy the city's spaces in dialogue with other international contexts. It is inspired by two urban projects that developed their own interdisciplinary methodologies, involving walking as an investigative, poetic and educational practice, in addition to crossing urban spaces and fabrics with the different corporeities that make them up.
EXPEDIÇÕES considers methodologies and practices of contemporary art, social museology and critical urbanism proposed by the architect and museologist Julio Abe Wakahara, based on the Rua Museum – social museology/new museology) and critical urbanism proposed by the Art/City project, organized by Brazilian philosopher and curator Nelson Brissac Peixoto. The coastal centext considers historical, socio-cultural and environmental displacements that unfold in a relational perspective, pointing to the development of practical-theoretical processes that integrate art, environmental education, heritage and memory technologies, based on the creation of a transmedia platform containing elements of a participatory inventory, an instrument developed by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute as a way to activate, visualize, analyze, interpret and systematize the shared production of knowledge.
